Letter from Save Fenway Park
to the Boston Redevelopment Authority

November 20, 2002

Mr. John O'Brien
Boston Redevelopment Authority
One City Hall Square, 9th floor
Boston, MA 02201

Dear Mr. O'Brien,

Save Fenway Park strongly endorses the Red Sox' proposed 2003 ballpark improvements as an effective and appropriate means of improving the fan experience at Fenway Park without diminishing the special character of this singular Boston landmark. The improvements have been carefully designed to bring exciting new features to the ballpark that will increase fan interest and help bring Fenway into the twenty-first century with a minimal impact upon the park's historic character.

Save Fenway Park was chartered in 1998 to promote the renovation of Fenway into a park which incorporates modern amenities while maintaining an aura of history and tradition. We hope this aspiration for one of Boston's richest landmarks and greatest tourist destinations is shared by the BRA. The improvements now proposed are consistent with this objective and should be approved.

Sincerely,

Dan Wilson, President
On Behalf of the Save Fenway Park Board

Save Fenway Park encourages its members and other interested parties to send your own letter of support for Fenway improvements.

Save Fenway Park submitted the above letter to the Boston Redevelopment Authority in support of the October 22, 2002 proposal submitted by the Boston Red Sox to the BRA as part of the city of Boston's building permit review process.
